After portraying the father-daughter duo in the much acclaimed film 'Dangal,' Aamir Khan and Fatima Sana Shaikh are reuniting again for the film 'Thugs of Hindostan.' A statement regarding her confirmation as the lead actress reads, "The role of the girl is pivotal to the film so it was crucial for us to find the perfect fit. Through a rigorous round of auditions and action workshops, we found in Fatima a truly dedicated actor and a gifted performer of action. We are very happy to have found the perfect girl for our film."

Many big names like Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Vaani Kapoor and others were doing the rounds of the internet for the role of the actress opposite Aamir in this particular film. Even Fatima's name was on the top list but the actress denied such rumours at that time.

'Thugs of Hindostan' will be the second Bollywood project of Fatima and will be interesting to watch her opposite Aamir again. It will also star Amitabh Bachchan in a pivotal role and is set for a Diwali 2018 release.
