(Cover) - US Showbiz - Sir Paul McCartney has married Nancy Shevell in London today.
The couple became husband and wife in front of just 30 guests at Marylebone Register Office, with the reception held in the back garden of Paul's home in St John's Wood.
Paul and Nancy travelled to the wedding venue in central London together, arriving just before 3.30pm.
Nancy climbed into the back seat of the car alongside a young bridesmaid dressed in pink, while Paul was seated in the passenger seat.
The bride wore a classic knee-length white dress designed by Paul's fashion designer daughter Stella, and held a small bouquet of roses. Paul, 69, wore a smartly tailored navy suit, white shirt, and blue tie.
The legendary musician did a thumbs-up gesture to fans assembled to watch before making his way into the ceremony.
Paul's former Beatles band mate Ringo Starr posed for photographs and made a peace sign before entering the registry office.
The couple left the venue as newlyweds after an hour and 10 minutes, and headed back to Paul's house to continue the celebrations.
Family and friends threw confetti as they walked down the steps, with the couple beaming. Paul gushed about his new wife when asked how he felt in front of around 200 fans.
"Terrific, thank you. I feel married," he said. "I feel absolutely wonderful."
Today would have been the 71st birthday of Paul's late Beatles bandmate John Lennon.
Paul and Nancy began dating in 2007 and announced their engagement in May this year. They have chosen rings from exclusive Los Angeles jeweler Neil Lane.
This will be Paul's third marriage.
After first wife Linda McCartney died in 1998, he tied the knot with Heather Mills in 2002, with the pair's bitter divorce battle being finalized in 2008.
She won a 24.3million settlement.
Nancy was previously married to American lawyer Bruce Blakeman. (C) Cover Media
