'Shakeela' biopic has become one of the most anticipated biopics to look forward to this year. Based on the life of the south adult film actress, the film helmed by director Indrajit Lankesh is set to delve into the true life beyond the screen image who defied the norms in the late 90s in the south film industry.

The makers earlier released the first look poster of the film in November with the lead actress Richa Chadda embellished in an outfit made of only gold jewellery. Now with the beginning of a New Year, the makers have released a fun, quirky poster with the actress as Shakeela immersed in a glass of alcohol with wishing everyone - "Iss Saal Ka Jaam, Shakeela ke Naam." 

Speaking about the film, director Indrajit Lankesh had earlier said, "I always wanted to make a film on Shakeela, I was immensely impressed with her onscreen and offscreen personality. I wanted to portray her story, the hardships and rough phase when she was not getting films and was trying for character roles. I wanted to show the true story behind the superstar Shakeela. She has been an integral part of the making of this film and she has given us such detailed insights into her life."

The film has been bankrolled by Sammy's Magic Cinema and Yoddhas Entertainment.
