Vidya eager for MS Subbulaxmi biopic

14th May 2014

The rumors have been long standing that Vidya Balan will soon commence the biopic of the late Carnatic singer MS Subbulaxmi.

The reports have been doing the round for over a year now but there are no signs of the biopic being made.

It has been reported that one of the co-producers of the film, Dr. MP Somaprasad has put a legal stay on the film. He was apparently upset with film's director Rajiv Menon who is a renowned Tamil cinematographer and filmmaker, who also wrote the script of the same.

Menon went on to announce the film with Vidya in the lead without involving Dr. Somaprasad and this had hugely upset him due to which he slammed a legal suit on the film that delayed the shoot.

However, Vidya exclaims that this is one of the most exciting scripts that she is eager to do.

"I am hoping the film still happens because there are some legal tangles to it as you must’ve heard of," said Vidya.

She added that she has always adored Subbulaxmi and cannot wait to play the legendary singer on screen.

"I love MS Subbulaxmi and I love the script that Rajiv has written. I wish the film happens and it happens soon," she said.
