Watch the 'Making of The Dhaakad Girls' in this video

5th December 2016

Few days back a song from the film 'Dangal' titled as 'Dhaakad' was released which showed the wrestling journey of Aamir Khan's onscreen daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari. Now the makers of the film have released a making video of the song which shows all the behind the scenes moment of the song.

Unlike the song which shows the wrestling journey of the girls, the making video shows the pre-shoot training of the real girls who actually didn't know anything about wrestling. Director Nitesh Tiwari had informed the coach to teach the girls required wrestling skills as he cannot change them as a professional wrestler. Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra had the toughest time while the training session as they had to practice for 6 days in a week and that too for a long period of 8-9 months. They would not tell anyone the pain they went through while the training with fear that they will be fired from the movie.

Coach Kripa Shankar Bishnoi Beniwal followed the same regimen which is followed by the senior team members of India's wrestling team. Zaira Wasim faced many problems and everyone felt that she was weak and could not handle the heavy schedule of wrestling. She even admitted that it was painful and next to impossible to learn the skills of wrestling as she was unfamiliar with the sport. But she nailed it like a tigress when the actual shooting for the film began and the first wrestling shot was given a thumps up in the first take.

Fatima has to perform most of the wrestling scenes in the film and her training was tough too. Amidst the training, Fatima fractured her leg and was advised a bed rest for 3-6 weeks and the entire crew had to stop the shooting. But a brave girl she was, she continued shooting after few days and garnered appreciation for her performance. Within few months girls managed to learn the skills of wrestling and its technicalities.

'Dangal' will hit the theatres on December 23,2016.
