Aamir Khan's debut television show 'Satyamev Jayate' touched the peak of TRP charts when it dealt with the critical issue of female foeticide in its very first episode. However, after garnering compliments from all sides, the show has now attracted an unwanted controversy from Rajasthan.
During the show, the malpractice of female foeticide in the state was heavily criticized and highlighted. And this has irked Rajkumar Sharma, Rajasthan's Health Minister. He has slammed Aamir for not checking the facts as contrary to the statements in the show the work on eradicating the malpractice was in full swing even before Aamir highlighted it.
"There was an impression that the government took action only after Aamir's campaign, but I would like to highlight that we've already been working for the same. Budget announcements to check foeticide are there and several other steps are being taken. The government took up the issue much before Aamir Khan's program," said Rajkumar Sharma.
He further slammed Aamir for using social issues for his professional gains, "Aamir himself has said that he is an entertainer and cannot work longer on one topic, that simply means what he is doing is for monetary gains. If he really wants to work on this issue, then I welcome him to come and work here on ground," challenged Sharma with this fierce statement.
It remains to be seen what will be Aamir's reaction to this.
