Fulfilling his prime duties as a loving son, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently took his mother on a Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia.

He, who performed the rites himself claims that the spiritual trip has changed him into a better person. "It was a moving and spiritually overawing experience...a very emotional and introspective moment for me. I felt very close to God. The character and beauty of the place has a surreal feeling," said Aamir.

He further added that asking forgiveness from God makes you realize your mistakes like never before. "We spend the whole day recalling mistakes, offences and the people affected by them, and then ask God for forgiveness. A sense of catharsis overtook me," he added.

The trip has bought about a considerable change in him, "I have become more spiritual than I ever was. I am much happier and at peace then I used to be. I pray that all Muslims who intend to go for the Hajj should make their trip there unfailingly," confessed Aamir.
