Abhishek to romance Asin, as Bebo and Shraddha say no

There were reports that
Kareena Kapoor was approached to play the lead, but the actress refused to work with Abhishek.
While Bebo didn't state any reasons it's obvious that Abhishek was once engaged to
Karisma Kapoor and their relationship ended on a bitter note, so Kareena is not comfortable romancing Jr. Bachchan on screen.
Next,
Shraddha Kapoor was approached, however, the actress refused the role as she just wants to work with actors of her age.
Now, the makers have finally roped in Asin to play the leading lady in their movie, tentatively titled 'Mere Apne'.
Asin and Abhishek have earlier worked in
'Bol Bachchan' where they played siblings; and casting them as lovers now was a risky proposition.
However, Abhishek assured the makers that the pairing would work as he shared a great rapport with Asin whom he considers 'Mere Apne'.
