The general council meeting of the South Indian Film Artistes Association (SIFAA) in Chennai on Sunday discussed the vexatious wage revision issue which has led to a crisis in the Tamil film industry.
A resolution passed at the meeting, which was chaired by SIFAA president R Sarathkumar, urged the bodies concerned including Tamil Film Producers Council and South India Film Chamber to hold talks with workers and arrive at an amicable solution.
Another resolution congratulated J Jayalalithaa for assuming the office of Chief Minister for the third time. It also wished DMDK president Vijayakanth and AISMK presdient Sarathkumar, whose parties tasted success in the recently concluded Assembly elections.
One of the resolutions also urged actors and actresses, who are still to enroll themselves with the Nadigar Sangam to do it at the earliest or face the consequences. The meeting urged them to become members of the Nadigar Sangam by 31 October.
