There was a huge hullabaloo around Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's maiden red carpet appearance post maternity at Cannes this year. The light eyed Indian beauty who has been gracing the International Cannes film festival for over a decade now was earlier rumored to give the event a miss, citing the fact that she had piled on kilos post the delivery of her first baby.

However, she bowled the people over when she attended the 'AmfAR Cinema against Aids' gala in Cannes yesterday. She looked every inch of a diva despite of coming covered up from head to toe. She wore a gold embroidered sari and a complimenting tailored jacket with a Mandarin collar. Her hair was all tied up in a graceful bun as her head too adorned a sleek gold band. Her make up was kept minimal, light with nude shades. 

What stunned us further was her slimmer avatar, as just a few weeks ago she was spotted looking flabby. Her look at Cannes makes us wonder how she managed to shed those extra kilos within a couple of weeks. 

Though she was not physically at her picture-perfect best, she still managed to look way better than what others expected.

It's a thumbs' up from our side for this red carpet appearance of the new mommy in town.
