Ajith's fans are in for more and more good news. For the leading Kollywood actor, immediately after completing his 50th film 'Mankatha', has started shooting for his next, 'Billa 2'. The film, directed by Chakri Toleti of 'Unnai Pol Oruvan' fame, is a prequel to 'Billa', a 2007 release (It was remade in Telugu with the same title, with Prabhas playing the lead role) which had the same Ajith in the lead role. Shooting for the movie has started in Hyderabad.

This film is produced under the banner of Wide Angle Creations (led by George Pious and Suresh Balaje, son of producer-actor K Balaje, who produced the original 'Billa' with Rajinikanth in 1980) and presented by Mumbai based Sunir Kheterpal, CEO of IN Entertainment (India) Limited, part of the Hinduja Group.

Popular model Huma Qureshi will play the love interest of Ajith in this film. Bollywood star Sudhanshu Pandey and Malayalam actor Manoj K Jayan will play prominent roles in 'Billa 2', made with a whopping budget. " 'Billa 2' will focus on the journey of how an ordinary man David became Billa, who is a dreaded don," say sources.
