Akshay Kumar's ambitious stare in 'Gold' new poster

13th June 2018

Awaiting for the Independence Day release is the Akshay Kumar starer 'Gold' and its makers recently dropped a marvellous movie poster in both English and Hindi. It is Reema Kagti directorial and in the film, Akshay essays the role of a Bengali hockey player in the pre-Indian independence era.

The brand new poster has Akshay keeping the Indian Flag close to his heart and giving an ambitious little stare sideways. Akki's intense look catches our eye. Farhan Akhtar shared the posters and captioned, "All victories begin with a dream. It fills me with immense joy to present to you the official poster of #Gold, a film that is very close to my heart."

Talking about the film, co-producer Ritesh Sidhwani clarified every doubt by confirming that it is not a biopic. He said, "It is not a biopic. It is a completely fictional story but it is set against a real backdrop between 1933-48 India about what the country was, the sports... About hockey. It is not based on any character."

The film also stars Amit Sadh, Sunny Kaushal, Kunal Kapoor, Vineet Kumar Singh and 'Naagin' fame actress Mouni Roy in major roles.

Gold narrates the journey of India winning its first Gold medal as an independent nation at the Olympics on August 12, 1948. The film is slated to release on August 15.
