The pretty actress Amala Akkineni was recently in Chennai to reinterate her commitments towards showering her love and care on animals. She was accompanied by a large number of pet lovers and the most popular among them was Trisha Krishnan.

While Amala, wife of top Telugu actor Nagarjuna, inaugurated the 'Lions Humane Education Center', Trisha unveiled the new shelter for the rescued puppies.

Speaking to reporters, Trisha and Amala requested people to adopt the Indian mongrels. Actress Anuja Iyer was also present.

"Give homes to rescued animals" and "Stay away from the breeding trade", were the two messages that these celebrities drilled into the minds of the people at the Blue Cross of India Velachery shelter in Chennai.
