Amber Le Bon launches charity top

6th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Fashion - Amber Le Bon has launched a limited edition T-shirt to raise money for charity.

The 21-year-old is the eldest daughter of supermodel Yasmin Le Bon and Duran Duran lead singer Simon Le Bon, and has emerged as one of fashion’s hottest new faces recently.

Amber’s latest project supporting the UK’s Jeans for Genes charity – which aims to help kids with genetic disorders - sees her modelling a trendy specially-designed black T-shirt with a unique logo.

It has been designed by student Sasha Helim, from the prestigious London College of Fashion, and all proceeds from sales will go to the organisation.

Amber has previously modelled for Moschino and the swimwear retailer Myla, and admits she has the beautiful looks she inherited from her mother to thank for her success.

"People are always saying to me that modelling is in my genes,” she told vogue.co.uk. “Fashion is a great way to raise money and awareness and I'm really pleased to do what I can to help.”

Another T-shirt designed for the campaign by one of Sasha’s classmates will be available on website ASOS.com.

First-year fashion illustration student Elise Mary Yasmin Pellican has reworked the Jeans for Genes DNA motif entangling it with a twisted ribbon chain print for another T-shirt in the charity range.

Sasha's design is retailing at £12.99 and is available online at www.jeansforgenes.com. Elise Mary's design costs £22 and available from www.asos.com.

On October 1 the charity’s main fundraising event Jeans for Genes Day will take place, encouraging people across the UK to make a small donation to the charity in order to wear their jeans to work and to school. (C) Cover Media
