Amitabh Bachchan pays off farmer loans worth 4 crore

Bollywood's legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan who is currently hosting the most anticipated show on TV show 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' is often involved in social work in his personal life. The millennium star extended his support for the Kerela relief fund without revealing his contribution amount.

Now the 76-year-old has helped a sum of 350 farmers from Maharashtra by clearing off their debts by clearing off their loan. Not only farmers but Big B even helped out 44 army men in the state who lost their lives in the line of duty. Along with wife Jaya Bachchan, the veteran actor handed out money in Mumbai a few months ago. This good work keeps the star what he is today with the gift of blessings poured on to him.

A source close to the actor stated "Now, 70 farmers have been invited to travel to Mumbai this week and receive the bank letters clearing their outstanding dues directly from Mr Bachchan on November 26 at his office. He has blocked an entire train compartment so they can travel in comfort."

The source further said "Big B has decided to take care of around 1398 farmer loans in UP, which amounts to over Rs 4 crore. He made an OTS: One Time Settlement with Bank Of India to clear the amount due."

On the work front Big B was last seen in Aamir Khan starrer 'Thugs of Hindostan' which tanked at the box-office.
