A.R Rahman donates 1cr to Kerala flood affected people

Bollywood's finest music composer who has won the prestigious Oscar awards for Slumdog Millionaire has proved he has a heart of Gold.  A.R.Rahman has donated an amount of one crore to the relief fund in Kerala.

The composer took to Twitter to announce on Sunday. AR Rahman is currently on a live concert tour in the USA and this announcement was made after his show in Washington. Reportedly, he will return to India on September 5 and will gear up with the promotions of Mani Ratnam's 'Chekka Chivantha Vaanam'.

He tweeted ''From my artists and me touring the USA... To our brothers and sisters of Kerala! May this small offering help in providing you some relief!'' During one of the concerts, the music composer sang a few lines for the people who have suffered due to floods. The crowd was all enjoying the live concert and towards the end, he changed the lyrics to from 'Mustafa' to 'Kerala, Kerala, don’t worry Kerala.'' 

Rahman is expected to sing live at the audio launch of the film. More details about the same are awaited. From the even itself he clicked the relief amount with the team.

Celebs from down south including Allu Arjun has donated Rs 25 lakh, Kamal Haasan Rs 25 lakh, Mammootty and Dulquer Salmaan Rs 25 lakh, Anupama Parameshwaran Rs 1 lakh, Vijay Sethupathi Rs 25 lakh, Siddharth Rs 10 lakh and many more.
