Aretha Franklin has gotten engaged.
The 69-year-old Queen of Soul announced today that she was planning on tying the knot with longtime friend William "Willie" Wilkerson.
But the legendary singer joked that she was not heading down the aisle because it was a shotgun wedding.
"No, I'm not pregnant," she said about her upcoming nuptials.
This will be the third marriage for the Chain of Fools singer having previously been married to Ted White for eight years and following their split in 1969 she married Glynn Turman in 1978 but they divorced six years later.
Aretha told the AP that she planned on saying "I do" on Miami Beach followed by an exclusive reception aboard a private yacht.
"Ms. Franklin is considering Donna Karan, Valentino and the queen of wedding dresses, Vera Wang, to design her gown," a rep for the singer disclosed.
The singer said she and her new fianc were "looking at June or July" for the wedding day. She described him as her "forever friend."
