There were reports in few sections of the media that Arya and his 'Boss Engira Baskaran' co-star Nayantara are in love. However, the 'Madrasapattinam' and 'Naan Kadavul' actor has denied it, saying the actress is a good friend of his.

"We became good friends when we were working for Boss Engira Baskaran. At that time, Nayanthara was in love (with Prabhu Deva). Even now we continue to be good friends," says Arya.

On reports which claimed that Nayantara was given a special welcome at his house warming ceremony, Arya said, "Yes, she was little upset at that time. Hence I ordered a special cake which had the words 'Welcome back Nayanthara' and we cut it during the house warming ceremony."

Arya added, "Not just Nayanthara, but more than 10 other popular actors and directors were present at the function. But Nayanthara taking part in it alone has become news. I reiterate that we are good friends and nothing more than that."
