(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Ashley Greene is keen to play a tough action hero in her next movie.

The star is best known as vampire Alice Cullen in the popular Twilight franchise. However, now the movies are coming to an end, she is looking for another challenging project. Ashley loves the idea of playing a kickass female in a high-octane film, but accepts those type of parts are scarce.

"If you could find a strong female role in an action film, that is one of the most sought-after parts for women," she told E! Online. "You know, I played 17 first for the past four years and it's kind of time for me to change over."

A trailer for the next instalment of the franchise, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1, has been released and fans can't wait for the movie to hit the big screen later this year. Despite the excitement surrounding the film, Ashley admits she has been too busy with personal obligations to watch the clip yet.

"I haven't even seen the trailer," she confessed. "I was in my friend's wedding this weekend... so I was kind of doing bridesmaids duty and that whole thing. But other than that, I can't tell you anything."

The 24-year-old star also spoke about her close bond with her co-stars, including Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz and Taylor Lautner. Ashley insists that she doesn't worry about losing touch with them once the movies have been released, because they are such good friends.

"I think we honestly all get to hang out more now that we aren't working then we did when we were filming. So as long as it stays that way I don't think it'll be too bad," she explained.

"I'm not really dealing with the end of it yet because I feel like it won't really be over for another two years because the films coming out and then the press tours and stuff." (C) Cover Media
