Avril Lavigne: I love hearing my songs

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Avril Lavigne "never" switches off a song of hers when it is played on the radio.

The Canadian songstress, who is famed for international hits including Complicated and Girlfriend, is "proud" when she hears her records getting airtime.

The 26-year-old star also revealed she often seeks the approval of friends and family when she finishes an album.

"I've just come back from Asia on tour. So I heard my single [Smile] all the time when I was there. Whenever a song of mine comes on the radio, I don't switch it off. Never. It's awesome. Makes me proud," she confessed in an interview with Q magazine. "When I get to the end of making an album, I take a copy home and play it for all my friends, and ask them what they think. Of course, they always like it."

Avril performed on stage alongside country music singer Shania Twain when she was just 15. The singer-songwriter recalled asking for the iconic star's autograph. The experience was a special one, so Avril loves signing things for fans when asked as she knows how much it can mean.

"My first time [I asked for an autograph] was when I was a teenager. It was Shania Twain, and it was after I sang onstage with her. I get asked a lot when I'm in public if I'm in the airport or at a show. It happened today outside my hotel in London," she added. (C) Cover Media
