Ayan Mukerji makes way for his mentor Karan Johar. According to reports Ayan was supposed to start shooting his superhero flick starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt in mid 2015; however, with Karan Johar announcing 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' starring Ranbir, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Anushka Sharma, Ayan had to take a backseat.

Now Ayan will apparently start shooting for the film in December 2015. A source said, "Karan wanted to start his film first but Ayan had Ranbir's dates from June." 

So the filmmaker, who launched Ayan as a director, asked him to spare him some dates and Ayan quickly agreed to postpone his film for KJo.

The source added, "Ayan agreed as he couldn't really say no to Karan. Ayan now plans to use the gap in time to go back to his script and polish it further as it is a really ambitious project."

'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil' will release in June 2016.
