(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Benji Madden will definitely be prepared for fatherhood when the time comes, because his bandmates are all fathers.
The 32-year-old is guitarist for Good Charlotte, which he co-founded with his identical twin brother Joel in 1996.
The musician whose other bandmates are Billy Martin, Paul Thomas and Dean Butterworth is proud of each member of the groups personal achievements more than anything else.
Joel is married to Nicole Richie and the pair have two children together, Harlow, three, and 18-month-old Sparrow. Benji admires his brothers dedication to his family, and hopes to achieve the same in his personal life at some point in the near future.
Im at a really interesting place in my life. Everyone in the band is married with kids. Theyre all really good guys, theyre all 100% with their girls and their babies. Thats the thing Im most proud of the band, is just kind of what dads and husbands they are, he revealed in an interview on the Kyle and Jackie O radio show. For me, Im at a really strange place. Everyone is having babies around me, and at the same time if I stop working the Good Charlotte boat has to pull over for a second. They all say, Dude, take your time! Ill definitely be prepared when the time comes, because I get to see it first hand.
The pop punk band have enjoyed a long and successful career, and Benji says there are no plans for them to slow down. The group are like family to him, and he would be lost without them.
Weve never [thought about] splitting up. We were little kids when we started the band, and we dont really know life without each other, so its kind of more than a band, its a family. I wouldnt even know what to do without these guys. Its like a marriage, Ive never been married but from what I hear, there are ups and downs, and theres times when you go through stuff, he explained. There have definitely been times when we did need a break. Before this record we took a little break. There are definitely times when you go, Oh man do we even know how to do this, are we even any good at this? But then you just Ah, I guess so! (C) Cover Media
