(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Beyonc Knowles has hired 200 female dancers for her new music promo.

The singing superstar is reported to have splashed out more than 60,000 flying dancers from all over the world to the set of the video for her next single Girl. Women travelled from as far away as Nigeria to strut their stuff in the Mojave desert in California earlier this week.

Beyonc was dressed as a sexy gladiator preparing for battle in pictures taken while shooting the promo.

The video is being made by Francis Lawrence, who has previously worked on promos for Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and the Black Eyed Peas. He also directed I Am Legend, starring Will Smith.

Girl is the first single from Beyoncs highly-anticipated fourth studio album. The track has included a sample from Major Lazers 2009 single Pon De Floor and has been described as a female empowerment type of song that is a definite club banger.

Beyoncs album is due to be released later this year and the 29-year-old star has teamed up with Diplo and Dave Taylor to create her new sound.

The singer recently revealed she was proud of her latest record and warned fans to expect something fresh.

"I'm not in a box, she said. The new record is not R&B, not typically pop, not rock. It's just everything I love mixed together." (C) Cover Media
