August 31, 2010 (Sampurn Wire}: Bollywood bombshell Bipasha Basu, who was last seen in 'Lamhaa' in a much deglamourized role, has turned very sensitive and serious towards issue based films. The actress is now going to work in a movie titled 'Aakrosh' that deals with honor killings and she will play a school teacher.
The actress has now started thinking about the issue based films and their future. She said that the issue based films should be made with small budget and the stars should not worry about their fees while acting in such films.
Bipasha also said that the stars should not charge any fee to work in such issue based films. She thinks this is the only option to make such films commercially viable. Her last movie 'Lamhaa' showcased the problems faced by the Kashmir people but the movie failed to draw well at the box office.
The Bong beauty said that the result of 'Lamhaa' has made her say to the dedicated filmmakers like Rahul Dholakia to go for rather commercial movies. She opines that filmmakers should not make a big budget film when they are dealing with a social or political issue.
Basu added that if a mainstream actor is doing a movie on social issue then he or she should do it free as a commitment to the society we are living in. She said that people starts treating the social issue based films like a thriller as was done with 'Lamhaa'. Bipasha said that one of the major reasons of signing the movie was that she wanted to come out of the typical glamour girl image.
It is definitely a good though Bipasha Basu and we are hopeful other stars are listening to you.
