Blake Lively puts thought into dying locks

2nd June 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Blake Lively went to "elaborate" lengths when dying her locks for Green Lantern.

The 23-year-old actress is best known for her role playing Serena van der Woodsen in hit US teen drama Gossip Girl, although she is also doing well in the movie world this month hitting screens in superhero movie Green Lantern.

Blake, who is famed for her blonde tresses, dyed her hair brunette for her role playing Carol Ferris in the film. She felt it was important to have the same colour locks as her character Carol does in the DC Comics Universe, and strived to find the perfect shade.

"I do want to make the fans happy. In the end we did a test and I tried 14 different shades of brown because we wanted to have the exact right colour. It was elaborate," she laughed in an interview with Total Film.

Blake never considered keeping her hair blonde for the movie. She knew that if she did fans of the comic book character would be extremely angry.

"My hair was brown [for the role] and if it wasn't I should have hidden in a bomb shelter!" she joked. (C) Cover Media
