(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Britney Spears has hinted that she and her boyfriend Jason Trawick are engaged.

The star took to her Twitter account to express her excitement about a mysterious present he had given her.

Jason turned 40 on Thursday and he is rumoured to have proposed when the pair shared a romantic dinner together .

"OMG. Last night Jason surprised me with the one gift I've been waiting for," Britney Tweeted. "Can't wait to show you! SO SO SO excited!!!! Xxo"

Britney and Jason have been dating since 2009.

Marriage rumours have been circulating the singer for months, after he was spotted visiting jewellery shops.

"This is something they've both wanted for a long time," a source told US Weekly. "It's a way to cement their family. They're both extremely happy and can't wait to become man and wife."

It is reported that the pair will celebrate their engagement at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas tonight.

This will be Britney's third marriage.

The 30-year-old has two boys from her three-year marriage to Kevin Federline. She also had her 55-hour union to childhood sweetheart Jason Alexander annulled in 2004 after the pair wed in Las Vegas. (C) Cover Media
