Britney Spears is reportedly close to signing a $10 million deal to join the US X Factor.
The pop star was recently linked to a role on the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid. Now speculation has been fuelled after reports emerged that Britney is considering a deal.
Deadline.com claims that the 30-year-old star has been offered $10 million to take part in the second season of the US version of X Factor.
Although this is an impressive wage, it is $2 million less than Jennifer Lopez reportedly receives for her involvement with rival talent show American Idol.
Britney's fianc Jason Trawick is said to be negotiating a deal for the star, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Simon has been looking for new superstars to join his X Factor judging panel following the departure of Nicole Scherzinger and Paula Abdul. He recently admitted that Britney "fascinates" him and would be a great addition to the show because of her "star power".
Other famous faces linked to the panel include Beyonc Knowles, Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson.
On February 22, Simon revealed the new judging line-up would be unveiled in a few weeks.
