(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Carey Mulligan thinks her career is scarier for her family than it is for her.
The 25-year-old British actress shot to international fame after being nominated at this years Oscars for her role as an impressionable young schoolgirl who falls in love with an older man in An Education.
The starlet has gone on to become one of Hollywoods most in-demand actresses, and appears in this months anticipated Oliver Stone movie Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps opposite Michael Douglas and her real-life boyfriend Shia LaBeouf.
Carey insists she doesnt feel overwhelmed by the success shes experienced in the past 12 months. She doesnt get nervous about auditions or meeting A-list celebrities, although she does worry about the effect her stardom could have on her family.
I think its scarier for my family to see - theyre more nervous about it than I am. I feel fine in it. When Im not at festivals and Im not at awards, my life is relatively normal, she told Total Film magazine.
Carey thinks the reason she doesnt get starstruck is because she started her career working with some of Hollywoods top stars in the 2005 movie Pride & Prejudice, which starred Keira Knightley and Dame Judi Dench.
My first job was with Judi Dench, Donald Sutherland and Brenda Blethyn. Its why I dont really get starstruck, she explained. I just get really excited about working with people I admire. (C) Cover Media
