Charlie Sheen is "honoured" that Kathy Bates is playing the ghost of his former Two and a Half Men character.
The actor was fired from his role as Charlie Harper on the hit series last year after he fell out with the producer Chuck Lorre and sparked concern with his controversial private life.
After Harper was killed off the show, Ashton Kutcher began portraying a different character.
Now it has been announced Bates will make a cameo as Harper's ghost on April 30.
While it appears to be a dig at the actor, Sheen has reportedly been telling friends he is more than happy to see Bates play the role as he admires her work.
"We're told Charlie thinks she's an incredibly funny, talented actress - and is honoured' the two now share a connection," TMZ reported.
Sources add Sheen is looking forward to seeing the episode.
Sheen is starring alongside Mary Elizabeth Winstead in upcoming movie, A Glimpse Inside the Mind of Charles Swan III.
Mary recently said her co-star has no "diva attitude" despite his public meltdown last year.
"With a lot of really big actors, you see a bit of unprofessionalism or a little bit of a diva attitude or something, but there was none of that," Mary told E! Online.
"He was great. He's amazing, super professional. Very charming and with a really calm presence."
Sheen is also set to get back on the small screen with his new sitcom Anger Management.
