The 64-year-old is experienced in both singing and acting, having enjoyed a fruitful career in both fields.

As a style icon herself, she believes performers such as eccentric singer Lady Gaga can explore fashion in a much wackier way than female thespians.

Musicians have a different kind of look, a different kind of style. Were much more out in your face, she explained. Like Lady Gaga and her meat dress I dont think if youre an actress youd be able to pull that off.

Cher is proud of her slender figure, and admits she competed with younger actresses on the set of her new musical movie Burlesque - which also stars Christina Aguilera. The star doesnt think looks should be about age, as she knows remaining toned is simply down to hard work.

The oldest girl was 32 years old and so everyone would say, You look great for your age, or, You look really good, or whatever, but the truth is you are going to have to do something, she told the BBC.
