(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Cheryl Cole has been confirmed as a judge on the US version of The X Factor.
The British singer made her name in Girls Aloud and has sat on the panel of British talent contest The X Factor since 2008. She appeared alongside Dannii Minogue, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell, who is a huge fan of the star.
Simon quit his role as a judge on American Idol to bring The X Factor stateside last year, and since then there has been intense speculation about who would join him on the panel. Its now been confirmed Cheryl will be there, much to her delight.
I'm so excited to be taking part in the American version of The X Factor, she said.
"I absolutely love it here in the UK, and with the talent they have out in America, I'm sure we're going to find someone very special. I can't wait to get started.
I just can't decide whether I am more excited to find and nurture the talent or for the unbelievable amount of amusement and entertainment I will have watching Simon doing everything and anything he can to beat me.
Simon is delighted to have Cheryl on board. He has long sung her praises, and has repeatedly said he hoped she would be able to join him on the show.
I'm thrilled for Cheryl. She is massively excited about this show, and has been fantastic to work with. She is also a complete brat! Most importantly, this girl can spot talent, he said.
Record producer L.A. Reid is also on the panel, with rumours Paula Abdul will round it out. (C) Cover Media
