(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Brown is set to attend next year's Grammy Awards for the first time since assaulting ex-girlfriend Rihanna.

The 22-year-old was arrested and charged with felony battery after the incident with the Barbadian singer that left her with a bruised and battered face.

The attack happened after they left a pre-Grammy party in 2009 but RadarOnline is reporting that Chris is set to attend the prestigious music event for the first time since it happened.

Sources close to the singer maintain that he is a reformed character and is happy that his popularity appears to be on the rise again.

"Chris has grown tremendously as a person and an artist from that time in his life," the insider told the site.

"Chris has complied with all the terms of his probation and has completed most of his court-ordered community service. Chris accepted responsibility for what he did and vowed to learn from it and become a better person.

"He was trilled and truly humbled that he was nominated for three Grammys."

Soon after the incident Rihanna ended the romance with Chris and but she recently revealed that she actually enjoys his music again but fears that the incident will forever follow her around.

Rihanna will also likely be attending the event on February 11 next year as she is nominated for several Grammys herself, including for Album of the Year for Loud.

Earlier this year a judge eased the terms of the restraining order that had been placed on Chris to stay away from the Umbrella star so that now he can be in close proximity to Rihanna at industry events. (C) Cover Media
