22nd March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Brown had fun working on his old school music promo. The R&B star has been promoting his latest single Look at Me Now and has paid tribute to the 90s for the video to accompany the track. The promo sees Chris dressed up in a series of different outfits and features fast-paced dance battles. Chris wanted to let loose and put his humour into the new music video and thinks he managed to aptly capture the period."Look at Me Now is kind of like my first rap, rap video. I wanted to do like old school, not really old school but, like, back-in-the-day [style]," he told MTV News. "Big baggy clothes and a lot of art, graffiti. I tried to blend all of those components into one and make it fun and exciting." The video, which was directed by Collin Tilley, also sees Chris channel Mars Blackmon a character created by Spike Lee in his 1986 movie Shes Gotta Have It. Chris wears horn-rimmed glasses and a baseball jersey in several sequences and got a kick out of acknowledging one of his favourite Hollywood directors."I kind of did the Mars Blackmon outfit with the Brooklyn hat and the whole outfit, I always was a fan of that and that was always fresh to me when I saw Spike Lee with Jordan," Chris explained. "So I was like, Man, I'mma do that outfit just to pay tribute to him."Chris new album F.A.M.E. is released worldwide this week. (C) Cover Media
