(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Chris Colfer was shocked to receive an Emmy nomination for his role in Glee.
The actor, who plays Kurt on the hit show, will compete against Modern Family's Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Ed O'Neill, Eric Stonestreet and Jon Cryer from Two and a Half Men in the Supporting Actor In A Comedy Series category.
Despite being nominated last year, Chris admitted Thursday's Emmy nominations announcements still surprised him.
"I was very, very nervous," he told Entertainment Weekly. "There were rumours that I might get nominated again, but I was thinking I wouldn't.
"It was a surprise. I think there is so much anxiety that comes with awards show and nominations and I was focusing on all the bad. The category is so so tough, so selective, that I didn't think I would get another nomination."
Chris' Emmy joy follows news that he will leave the show after the end of Season 3, which will be aired in May, 2012. Lea Michele, who plays Rachel, and Cory Monteith are also leaving.
However, Chris hasn't ruled out making special appearances in the future.
"I'd be the obnoxious recurring star," he joked.
The Emmy Awards will take place on the US on Sunday September 18. (C) Cover Media
