(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Christina Aguilera says the best piece of advice she got from Cher is that husbands come and go.

The two stars appear alongside each other in new movie Burlesque. Christina plays Ali, a small-town girl who moves to Los Angeles and finds herself catapulted into the spotlight by a bar owner called Tess, portrayed by Cher.

Last month, Christina filed for divorce from her husband Jordan Bratman. The two have vowed to remain friends for the sake of their two-year-old son Max. The actress-and-singer has revealed friends and family were pivotal when it came to dealing with the break-up, and has now explained even Cher helped her get through it.

Should I say it or not? she replied, when asked what the best piece of advice Cher has given her is. Well, in her case, the fact that husbands come and go, but shell always be Cher.

Wed talk about relationships a lot. Shes been there and done everything before any of us so how could you not learn from Cher?

Cher has been married twice, to Sonny Bono and Gregg Allman, and has had a number of high-profile relationships with stars including Richie Sambora and Gene Simmons.

Christina admits shooting Burlesque was tough, as she struggled to find enough time to spend with Max. She has no regrets though, and is pleased she is a working mother. She thinks its important for her son to see she has interests outside the family home.

I knew I wouldnt stop working after I became a mother and its important for me to continue work, too, so that Max can have a strong woman in his life who has her own passions, so that he can then have his own goals, she told Look magazine. (C) Cover Media
