(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Courteney Cox Arquette wishes shed made more effort to be friends with Neve Campbell when they first worked together because shes just realised shes a lot of fun.

The two women have worked together on four movies in the Scream franchise, the first of which was out in 1996. Scream 4 is due for release next year, and it was only on the set of the latest movie that Courteney and Neve bonded. Neither is sure of the reasons they werent close before, but have vowed to stay friends and see each other out of work.

I liked Neve [during the first three films]. I thought she was a really nice girl, really talented, but I wasn't that close with her for some reason, Courteney explained. We were nice to each other and socialised a little bit, but for some reason Scream 4, that's when we clicked. I was like, 'I can't believe I missed out on all these great years with you.

Neve added: It's like going back to summer camp.

Courteney plays journalist Gale Weathers-Riley in the movie series, which follows the hunt for a serial killer intent on murdering Sidney Prescott, portrayed by Neve. She was thrilled to reprise the role ten years after the last movie hit screens, and says it was easy to get back into character.

She's pretty bored, pretty miserable, pretty desperate, Courteney said of Gale. And all of a sudden some murders start happening and her life starts to look up. She likes a good murder.

Courtneys husband David Arquette portrays Sheriff Dewey Riley in the Scream movies, which is where they met. Dewey is married to Gale by Scream 4, and David loves tracking his own relationship via the franchise.

On the first one we were flirting a lot and falling in love. The second one, she was very upset with me and we were on and off, he told British newspaper The Sun. By the third one I think we were engaged to be married. And now we have our daughter Coco. (C) Cover Media
