(Cover) - EN Movies - Damon Lindelof says the script for the 2012 Star Trek sequel will "never be completed".
The 38-year-old writer is working on the script for the sci-fi movie, which is currently tapped for release next year, with production anticipated to commence at the end of 2011.
The picture is eagerly awaited by fans of the iconic franchise, although Damon isn't prepared to give much new information away. When asked by Cinema Blend about the script's progress, Damon avoided revealing much by admitting scripts are never truly finished.
"Our process doesn't really define the script is completed' because sometimes, even when we start shooting, the script is never completed and I think that's what makes it so cool," he beamed.
The movie will be the sequel to J.J. Abrams' 2009 smash Star Trek, and Damon could not confirm whether J.J. will be helming the follow-up. He sincerely hopes that the moviemaker can be convinced to direct again, and says he and fellow writers Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are trying to convince him.
"He has not officially announced that yet but we are hoping that he does," he smiled. (C) Cover Media
