Daniel Craig, Hugh Jackman: Probable To Be Cast As The Gunslinger In Ron Howards Dark Tower

December 18, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The silver screen adaptation of Stephen Kings novels, short stories and comic books are in the offing and the feature film Dark Tower by Ron Howards has many names in the probable list of the one star that gets to play the role of the popular gunslinger Roland Deslain.

Reports suggest that at a recent press conference, Ron Howard had given positive nods for all the names that were mentioned by the crowd as to who would play the role of the gunslinger in his upcoming project. The film maker was quite responsive when names like Daniel Craig, Hugh Jackman. Others in the list are also Jon Hamm and Viggo Mortensen.

The role of the gunslinger involves a lot of adventure, thrill and action as the plot involves a lot of traveling by the gunslinger across a desolate and post baleful landscape.The gunslinger also has to tackle mutants, magical creatures and fight like a true warrior.

There are various adaptations of Stephen Kings novels, to be made into movies, with a television series to follow up with the first season. After this there will be a second film on the anvil after which the second season of the TV series will follow up. The last film will be then be followed up. All the adaptations are to be directed by Ron Howard and the production house s involved in the projects are touted to be Universal Pictures and NBC Universal Television Entertainment.The other big names are Brian Grazer and Akiva Goldsman who are to play active roles in the making of the project.
