Daniel Radcliffe convincing in new role

29th January 2012

Daniel Radcliffe left his new director unconvinced that he could play a character other than Harry Potter.

The British actor is famed for his role as the wizard in the hugely popular fantasy film franchise. Daniel is starring in upcoming thriller The Woman in Black, which is his first movie project following the final Harry Potter installment.

Director James Watkins had initial reservations about the 22-year-old.

"I never buy the party line. I met up with [Harry Potter director] David Yates before to get a bit of intel and David was really like, You'll have a great time. Dan's a good guy and he'll throw himself into anything,'" he recalled to SciFi magazine.

"I thought he was just giving me the party line and he wasn't. This film really shows Dan in a new light; he's playing an adult, he looks different he looks older."

Daniel has starred in stage productions Equus and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
