Danny DeVito: Schwarzenegger needs burlesque role

7th March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Danny DeVito says Arnold Schwarzeneggers next acting role should be a burlesque lederhosen guy.

The American star appeared alongside Arnold, 63, in comedy films Twins and Junior. The 66-year-old thinks his former co-star should try a more unconventional role for his next acting part.

A good part for Arnold [Schwarzenegger] would be a burlesque lederhosen guy, he told Esquire magazine.

The star has revealed that when his acting career started to take off, the first luxury he wanted to purchase was a house with a swimming pool. Danny first gained prominence for his portrayal of Louie De Palma on the television series Taxi. He was in it for five years and won a Golden Globe and Emmy Award for his role. After the success of the series, Danny was able to afford his dream.

I always wanted a swimming pool. The kind where you just go out in the garden and dive in. As a kid, youd dig a hole, throw in some water, and get a mud pit. The first thing I did when Taxi hit and things started rolling was look for a place with a swimming pool, he said.

Danny married actress Rhea Perlman in January 1982. The couple have three kids together, Lucy, Grace and Jacob. The actor reminisced about his time as a child, and has admitted he never got bullied whilst at school because he stood up to people.

I never had a problem being bullied. I think its an important thing for kids to know. Have an equaliser with you. The guy who says, Aint nobody going to touch Danny! he laughed. (C) Cover Media
