7th April 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dave Grohl is thrilled about an upcoming 3D performance hes giving because the new technology is insane.

The star is the frontman of American band Foo Fighters, whose documentary Back and Forth is airing in the UK today. The film follows the bands history and Dave is sure fans will enjoy it. To celebrate its release the group are giving a one-of-a-kind show which will be aired in 3D something Dave is still trying to get his head around. The band will play tracks from their new release Wasting Light, which will then be broadcast in 3D after the documentary.

Its going to be nuts, he told Empire. Im really excited. The last time I saw a 3D movie was when you had the glasses with one red eye and one blue eye, so the new 3D technology is insane! When it comes to having a rock band jumping around, it looks pretty cool.

Back and Forth isnt the only big screen debut Dave will be making this year. He has also landed a cameo in The Muppets, which stars Amy Adams and Jason Segel. The film follows Jasons character Gary as he tries to reform the legendary Muppets in an effort to save a theatre, and Daves involvement is linked to Muppet drummer Animal. Dave played the instrument for rock band Nirvana, and is famed for being one of the best drummers in the business.

Dude, I always said I never wanted to be an actor, so I figured that Ill be a Muppet, Ill be Satan in the Tenacious D movie and Ill do 3D concerts! he laughed. (C) Cover Media
