(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Arquette says he has lost his "booze bloat".
The actor announced he had split with wife of 11 years Courteney Cox Arquette in October last year and dealt with the separation badly.
The 39-year-old star best known for his role in the popular Scream franchise was seen on a number of wild nights out before he decided to seek help after struggling with the break-up. He completed a stint in rehab for alcohol and depression issues earlier this year, and now says he is leading a healthier life, both physically and mentally.
"I'm definitely staying in shape and I've lost my booze bloat. I'm just living a healthier life. I eat better and I take care of myself on several different levels. I'm doing a lot of personal work, going to therapy," he told the Kyle and Jackie O radio show. "I was ready to make a change in my life. The break-up hit me pretty hard. It made me sit back and take a look at myself. Once you take a step back you start looking and thinking wow'."
Courteney has been linked to a co-star during the separation and David has admitted that despite driving him feeling angry initially, he learned to accept that the break-up wasn't a result of anyone else.
"My heart isn't open to meeting anybody else, and that's something I've brought up to [Courteney]. If other people get involved it gets complicated," he explained. "It drove me nuts in the beginning, but she told me she didn't and it's something I had to sort of look at and understand. I didn't want to blame it on another person."
David says he is unsure of his future with 46-year-old Courteney. The pair have daughter Coco together, and David insists that whatever happens, they will stay amicable for the sake of their daughter.
"Yeah, we don't know. It's still up in the air but we really love each other and we're great parents together and we have a business together. We're both courteous and kind, and we're both figuring out a lot about our lives right now, and our personalities and what we need to feel more complete," he added. (C) Cover Media
