(Cover) - EN Showbiz - David Duchovny has split from his wife of 14 years, Tea Leoni, for the second time.

According to reports from US website TMZ, the 50-year-old X-Files actor and his 45-year-old wife are taking time apart from their marriage, although they have not yet decided whether to file for divorce.

The Hollywood couple's marriage has faced a series of problems in recent years. They spent time apart in 2008 as David underwent treatment in a US facility for his sex addiction, but reconciled after the actor got his life back on track.

They announced their split publicly in 2008 in an official statement.

"In light of continuous speculation over the lives and marriage of Tea Leoni and David Duchovny, the couple has confirmed that they have in fact been separated for several months," the statement read. "The couple had hoped to keep this separation private for the sake of their children."

They reunited a year later when they were seen together at the UNICEF Snowflake Ball in December 2009.

David and Tea married in 1997. The pair have a nine-year-old son, Kyd, and 12-year-old daughter, Madelaine, together. (C) Cover Media
