(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Charlie Day is "excited" for the arrival of his first baby.

The American actor, who is currently starring alongside Jennifer Aniston in comedy Horrible Bosses, announced that he and wife Mary Elizabeth Ellis are expecting a baby later this later.

The pair both appear together on FX's It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Charlie says they are both anticipating the birth of their arrival.

"I'm excited," he told US Weekly. "Who wouldn't be excited about being a daddy?

"Well, maybe a 16-year-old in high school wouldn't be excited, but a 35-year-old man like me is looking forward to something bigger than himself."

Charlie and Mary, 32, consciously decided to have a child. The funny man has revealed the couple were planning to take time out of their careers to start a family. The parents-to-be will be on shooting hiatus from their hit TV show when their first child is due, which Charlie says is "perfect" timing.

"We decided now is the time, and we were fortunate that it happened," he told People magazine."It's going to time out perfectly. We live in L.A., [so] my East Coast family and her Southern family may have to come see us this Christmas."

Despite feeling excited for the birth of his new arrival, Charlie insists he'll be needing some advice along the way. The 35-year-old comedian says friends and family have been great up until now.

"People are always willing to give you free advice when you have a baby on the way, so we've gotten more than our fair share and honestly, we're gonna need it!" he laughed.

The tot is due in December, and will be the first baby for the pair, who wed in March 2006. (C) Cover Media
