(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Denise Richards says her relationship with Charlie Sheen was "definitely love at first sight".
The American actress and former model married the actor in 2002, and the pair have two daughters together, Sam and Lola.
Denise filed for divorce in March 2005, and briefly sought marriage counselling in a bid to mend their relationship - however in January the following year Denise's representative confirmed she was continuing with the divorce, and she later sought a restraining order against Charlie, following his alleged death threats against her.
The couple's break up was highly publicised, especially when it came to their two daughters. An agreement was reached between them regarding the custody of the children, with Charlie stating in April 2009 that "we had to do what's best for the girls".
Despite their tumultuous divorce, Denise remembers the days when she was in love with the troubled star, who regularly hits headlines for his drink and drug abuse.
"He was amazing. He was so humble and sweet and charming and funny and had such a great heart and was very honest. We just had a very deep connection," she gushed in an interview with Piers Morgan.
"Definitely love at first sight, I'd say."
Denise, who adopted a baby girl this year, Eloise Joni, insists at the beginning of her relationship she found Charlie to be utterly charming. The actor, who was fired from his role on hit show Two and a Half Men earlier this year, won over the beauty, who says Charlie has a "love or hate" effect on people.
"I met him on a movie, then we worked together on Spin City and after that we started to date," she explained.
"At the time when I married him I found him irresistible, and like you said, love him or hate him, people like to watch him."
Charlie married Brooke Mueller in 2008 and the pair had sons Bob and Max together, but he filed for divorce in November 2010.
Earlier this year, Charlie was living with pornographic actress Rachel Oberlin and graphic designer Natalie Kenly, who he named his "goddesses".
