Dionne Warwick: I celebrate Whitney

21st October 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Dionne Warwick prefers to "celebrate Whitney's life" rather than mourn her death.

The legendary artist explained what she's learnt in her 50-year career in show business. The singer, who was friends with late star Whitney, says one thing that has stayed the same is how difficult it is to deal with the passing of loved ones.

"There are no promises in this life, no certainties. I was taught at a very early age to accept the transition of loved ones from this world into the next," Dionne revealed to British magazine Hello! "And then there was Whitney... I don't mourn her. I prefer to celebrate her life."

Dionne continued to recall her memories of Whitney. The 71-year-old smiled as she explained how the singer will be remembered.

"She gave so much of herself. She was a wonderful, good girl. I always used to say she was the daughter I never had," Dionne said.

"The way I feel about her passing is that it seems she had done what God wanted her to do. And we still have her: her legacy is her music. You hear her on the radio every day. That's how she will live on." (C) Cover Media
