(Cover) - EN Movies - Edward Norton is set to play the villain in the fourth Jason Bourne movie.
The Fight Club star is in advanced talks to star in The Bourne Legacy, reports Variety. Matt Damon won't feature in the film after the director of the second and third instalments, Paul Greengrass, left the project over creative differences. Matt has previously stated he will only reprise his iconic character if Paul is behind the camera.
Tony Gilroy, who is the writer on the series, will helm the movie, which will be set in the world that Jason Bourne lives in but won't feature the character. Instead, rising star Jeremy Renner will play another CIA assassin who is said to have similar identity problems as Matt Damon's amnesiac spy. Jeremy Renner is also starring in The Avengers and the new Mission: Impossible movie. He's being earmarked to replace Tom Cruise as the lead in further Mission: Impossible instalments.
It will be Tony's third film as a director, after winning rave reviews for his debut, George Clooney's corporate thriller Michael Clayton. He also helmed Clive Owen and Julia Roberts caper Duplicity.
Rachel Weisz is also signed up to star in The Bourne Legacy. (C) Cover Media
