Aamir Khan who is known for supporting social causes was recently dragged into political drama.

Aamir was surprised to see social networking sites showing him supporting the Aam Aadmi Party. However, Aamir wrote to the election commission of India, clarifying that he does not support any particular party.

This issue has now forced the election commission to hold the actor's proposed association with it as its national icon.

A few days ago, the Election Commission had announced Aamir as the 'new face of the Election Commission of India', thereby creating awareness among the citizens before the Lok Sabha elections.

Though Aamir took corrective measures against the Aam Aadmi Party's poster that leveraged on his stardom to promote the party, the Election Commission has put on hold the actor's proposed association with it as its national icon.
