(Cover) - EN Star Style - Emily Blunt resents the fact that Hollywood actors get away with being overweight because they can cover it up more.
The 27-year-old actress has shed pounds for many of her movie roles, such as uptight fashion assistant Emily in 2006 comedy The Devil Wears Prada. She also trained hard to get into shape for her role as a ballerina in upcoming thriller The Adjustment Bureau, and feels jealous of male actors who pile on the pounds and dont get criticised for doing so.
There are actors who can turn up on set 30lbs. overweight and no one bats an eyelid. If a girl did theyd tell you to get in the gym, so I dont think its changed that much. Actors can get away with a lot more because they can cover it up more, she lamented in an interview with the British edition of OK! magazine.
The star feels sorry for many of her female colleagues as she understands the pressure put on them to remain slender. Emily has a healthy body image, and will never conform to unrealistic ideals, but she knows some stars arent so head-strong.
I think actresses still think they have to be super-thin, she explained. (C) Cover Media
