(Cover) - EN Movies - Emma Stone has been offered the lead role in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.

The actress is considering the period drama horror movie, which is based on Seth Grahame-Smith's take on the classic Jane Austen story. Emma would take the role of Elizabeth Bennet who has to deal with her bickering sisters, overbearing mother and romantic interest Mr. Darcy all while battling the undead in a bid to save England from zombies after a mysterious plague strikes.

Anne Hathaway and Natalie Portman were both originally linked to the role of Elizabeth, but Natalie is still attached to the project as a producer.

Seth and Marti Noxon are believed to be currently busy revising the script.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies will be directed by Craig Gillespie, whose previous work includes the Fright Night remake.

Emma can soon be seen in Crazy, Stupid, Love alongside Ryan Gosling, and also plays Gwen Stacy in the new Spider-Man movie. (C) Cover Media
